weekly releases
i start a lot of projects, and i finish roughly none of them.
this is usually fine, because my goal is usually unrelated to finishing—i tend to find more personal fulfillment in figuring out how things work and then designing and implementing the “interesting” part.
but recently i realized that this is a sort of survivorship bias. how do i know i wouldn’t find more fulfillment in finishing and releasing things if that never really happens?
with that in mind, i’m planning to finish anything weekly. i’m particularly interested in releasing or presenting these projects. i intend to at least publish a blog post for each weekly project.
in an effort to make this goal more achievable and realistic, i’ve decided that each project (or at least each milestone) will be limited to a week. if i don’t finish, i’ll scale it down into something completable for the next week and then move on. i still intend to write about anything that “fails” or isn’t presentable after a week.
this blog itself (and this post) is the first release.
